A Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding in Tabernash, Colorado

Weddings

Some love stories just feel like Colorado, and Anna and Dalton’s is exactly that. Their journey eventually led them to say “I do” at Devil’s Thumb Ranch, but long before the mountains, florals, and dance floor magic, it all started in Fort Collins during their master’s program. From there, life moved quickly, with both of them heading into medical school in Denver and learning how to tackle an intense season of life together.

When Anna and Dalton aren’t buried in textbooks, you’ll almost always find them outside. Mountains are their happy place, whether that means hiking, camping, boating, or squeezing in snowboard days whenever their schedules allow. (If you know med school life, you know that’s no small feat!) Their love for the outdoors is a huge part of who they are.

So when Dalton started planning the proposal, he knew it had to be in the mountains and in the fall. In September 2024, he popped the question while hiking Guanella Pass, perfectly timed with peak fall color season. Anna LOVES aspen trees. The surprises didn’t stop there. After the hike, they headed to Golden, where Dalton and Anna’s mom had secretly planned an engagement party at the Eddy Taproom and Hotel. Fall has always held a special place in Anna’s heart, and choosing it as the season to begin their marriage just felt right.

A Chilly Colorado Fall Day at Devil’s Thumb Ranch

If you’ve ever been to Devil’s Thumb Ranch, you know it has that feeling. It’s nestled in the mountains of Tabernash, and it was the perfect venue for two people who truly feel most at home outdoors. Wide-open views, rustic charm, and mountains in every direction… it honestly couldn’t have been more Anna and Dalton if it tried.

Their early November wedding day was chilly (very Colorado-core), but somehow there was no snow yet—lucky us!! The sky stayed perfectly overcast for the ceremony, and then the sun peeked out just in time for portraits.

The floral arch they walked through for the ceremony was absolutely insane. Full, textured, and perfectly seasonal, it framed the mountains so beautifully. For Anna and Dalton, choosing this venue was about honoring their shared love for the mountains and creating a space that felt like them. Devil’s Thumb Ranch gave them that, and then some. A place where the scenery speaks for itself, the vibes are relaxed but intentional, and love feels right at home.

Thoughtful Details, Show-Stopping Style, and a Dance Floor That Delivered

Every detail of the day felt intentional and personal, starting with the stack of love letters Dalton had written to Anna over the years. They brought them along to be included in the detail photos. It was such a sweet reminder that their wedding day was about years of choosing each other, over and over again.

Anna was an absolute vision in her CINQ dress and veil—true show-stoppers. Add in the fall florals and bridesmaids’ dresses that perfectly complement the season. Warm, earthy, and timeless with a little edge, very mountain fall, very Anna and Dalton.

One of the most noteworthy details was Anna’s something blue: a ring that once belonged to her mom, which Anna had actually gifted to her years ago. Now, her mom passed it back to her to wear on her wedding day.

The dancefloor was HYPE. Everyone was fully in it, laughing, dancing, and celebrating big. The best song of the night (no debate) was Found a Way by Drake Bell, which turned into one of those moments you wish you could bottle up forever. Anna and Dalton’s wedding day will live rent-free in all our heads forever.
