Jade and Matt’s wedding story began long before their day at Blackstone Rivers Ranch. It started with a surprise proposal in Wash Park! Matt’s sister actually found me on Instagram when he was looking for someone to capture the big moment. Fast forward to wedding planning, and Jade told Matt, “It can’t happen without Sam!” (which might honestly be the sweetest thing anyone’s ever said to me 🥹). That moment alone told me everything I needed to know about these two. They’re warm, thoughtful, and just the kind of people who make everyone around them feel instantly at home. From the minute you meet Jade and Matt, you can’t help but want to be friends with them. They radiate kindness and make even the most ordinary moments feel special.

A Romantic Mountain Celebration at Blackstone Rivers Ranch
Blackstone Rivers Ranch was the perfect mix of cozy and elegant for Jade and Matt’s day. The ceremony took place under tall pine trees with the sound of the river running nearby and the softest light filtering through the branches.
In true Colorado fashion, the weather couldn’t quite make up its mind. It sprinkled right in the middle of their vows (of course!). It didn’t ruin anything because the sun peeked through while it rained, and it honestly looked like something out of a movie. By the time we started portraits, the clouds had cleared, the air felt fresh, and everyone was just soaking in that perfect post-rain glow.

Earthy Details & Design
I want to touch on the details because they were thoughtful and intentional. Their color palette pulled straight from nature with warm neutrals, soft greens, and touches of burgundy for a little depth. The bridesmaids’ dresses weren’t matchy-matchy, which I loved—each one was a slightly different tone of sage, olive, taupe, or chocolate, and together they looked incredible in the forest.
The reception setup inside the tent was such a cozy dream. Long wooden tables were draped with soft green and beige runners, lined with gold flatware, and dotted with candles that made everything feel intimate. Burgundy menus added a fun pop of color, and the florals tied it all together. One of my favorite details was the custom napkins printed with love notes they’d written to each other!
