My husband’s family is from Aspen, and as luck would have it, a family friend up there happens to know the bride’s mom—and just like that, I got connected with Liza and Lloyd! I soon learned about their garden party, coastal cowgirl wedding in the mountains. I mean… come on. Lace, hats, wildflowers, and that Aspen light? Dream combo.
Their wedding took place at the Wheeler Stallard Museum. It’s a red-brick Victorian home, with lush gardens, and the mountain backdrop. Most of their guests flew in from New York City, so the whole weekend had a fun energy. Everyone was soaking in the mountain views, swapping heels for cowgirl boots.

Coastal Cowgirl Meets Garden Party
Liza absolutely nailed that perfect blend of western flair and timeless romance. Her long-sleeved gown had the perfect delicate lace, and the custom hat she paired it with was a showstopper. Every detail was intentional and she was so effortlessly stylish, comfortable in her own skin, and radiating joy from the inside out.
The entire day was lighthearted, fresh, and just the right amount of playful. Think wicker textures, soft blue-and-white floral accents, and cowgirl boots peeking out from under dresses. The mix of wildflower bouquets, textured linens, and soft candlelight under the tent created this airy, welcoming vibe like summer bottled up.
I loved the whole bridal party look. Flowy dresses in muted pinks, yellows, and creams, and the guys pulled off their natural-toned suits with a modern-western feel to a T.

A Relaxed Celebration Under an Aspen Sky
The ceremony took place beneath tall trees, setting the tone for Liza and Lloyd’s dreamy coastal cowgirl wedding. Afterward, guests made their way to the tented reception, where string lights twinkled overhead. The tables were covered in simple yet stunning details—woven chargers, loose florals, and that same easy, natural aesthetic that carried through the day. People kicked off their shoes to dance, hugged old friends, and toasted to new beginnings.

Their Words Say It Best
“I knew I was going to be in good hands when I agreed to work with Sam on my wedding day, but she exceeded all expectations. She captured every detail of emotion we felt on our special day, and as I obsessively continue to look at the photos, I see them as works of art – far from the cookie cutter wedding photos that I am used to seeing. I am also someone who does not normally enjoy being in front of the camera, but she made me feel so natural, and made the whole process so much fun. She is a cool girl who you just want to hangout with, who makes you feel so relaxed on a day full of adrenaline. I have had people I barely know come up to me and tell me that my wedding photos were the most beautiful that they have ever seen. And I actually believe them. Just work with Sam, and you will know what I’m talking about“
